heliopolis
Cairo Design Week, kicked off its first edition in 2022 within Heliopolis, one of Cairo’s most iconic districts. Cairo Design Week was able to successfully showcase the area’s architectural heritage by creating a unique and immersive experience that transformed the city’s streets.
Downtown
Downtown is known as “West El Balad”, as it can be poetically understood to mean “The Heart of the City”. This bustling district of Cairo certainly lives up to the name. It is not only the physical center of Cairo, but also a hub for transportation, business, and culture, centered on Midan El-Tahrir and Midan Talaat Harb.
ZAMALEK & MAADI
Enriching the scope of Cairo Design Week, last year’s edition extended beyond the three main design districts to introduce two exclusive add-ons—Zamalek and Maadi. Zamalek, with its cosmopolitan flair, alongside the tranquil Maadi, together, they created a mosaic of inspiration, adding depth and diversity to the week’s tapestry of events.
